More about Rev. (Rtd.) Samuel Buernor Lawerteh
his life
“For none of us lives for ourselves alone and none of us dies for ourselves alone. If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.” — Romans 14:7-9 NIV
The late Reverend Samuel Buernor Lawerteh was born on the 8th of December 1955, at Ada Afiadenyigba in the Greater Accra Region to Mr. Robert Baba Lawerteh, a renowned trader and farmer of Ada Afiadenyigba, and Mami Margaret Narkuor Lawerteh (née Addy Sabah, trader) of Bedeku-Ada (both parents of blessed memory).
Samuel Buernor Lawerteh, as he was named, was the third born of seven siblings—one female and six males—of which two have proceeded into eternity.
Education and Work
The Journey of His Tribute
Reverend Samuel Buernor Lawerteh was enrolled at the Kajanya Presby Primary School, Ada. He attended school for only two days and could not continue due to the distance he had to walk—a distance of four and a half miles to school daily. He was too young for the distance, so he had to wait at home a year to start school again when the Afiadenyigba D/C Primary School was established in the year 1964 as one of the pioneers of that school. He then continued to the Kpodokorpe D/C Middle School, where he featured strongly in the school football team. By dint of academic hard work, he wrote and passed the Common Entrance Examination in Form Three and proceeded to the Ada Secondary School under the control of Mr. Tettey Puplampu as the headmaster. He completed his secondary education in 1978, where he continued to Ghan Secondary School at Koforidua for his sixth form education.
